Lemon Thoughts

I love the smell of citrus trees as they bloom in the Spring. Being blessed to live in mild weathered California and have 3 Orange trees, a Palmelo, Mandarin, and a lovely Meyer Lemon tree, my home is full of color, growth and the sweet smell of life.

When my dear stamping friend, Carol, blessed me with an Embroidered Kitchen Towel with stunning lemons on it, I wanted to create a Thank You card for her (which then was modified for one of my Convention Swaps).
This sweet card (or is it tart?) came to life. I love the combination of White, Black and our yellow (Daffodil Delight) look together.
The Big Shot (#113439) and my Woodgrain embossing folder (#127821) ran through in only one area allow me to have multiple leveled look with out multiple levels.

Accented and "zoned off" these 1/8" strips of Basic Black card stock (#121045) is easy and really helps the project pop while coordinating with the Basic Black ink (#126980) stamped Hostess Exclusive Express Yourself (#130339) stamp set.
(DID YOU KNOW... that hostesses are offered stunning exclusive stamps, papers, accessories and tools at a greatly reduced cost?!?!  CLICK HERE for more info on how YOU can join in!)
Looking at this lemon makes my mouth water!!  I grew up picking lemons with my Nanna and Pappa. I would cut them and eat the lemon sprinkled with salt!  Ohhhh the joy this memory brings. (My dad would tell me to stop before I damaged my teeth, lol).

Here the Daffodil Delight card stock (#119683) run through my Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (#117335). Using the Extra Large Oval punch (#119859) and the circle punch from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309) this lemon is created!  I even made the 'lemon' curl like a real one - using my Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430) and adhere down one side, bowing it out slightly, adhere the other.  This strong adhesive will hold true to where you place it!
Do you think this card is Fresh?
Tart or Sweet??
Leave me a comment and let me know.

Thank you, Carol!  I just adore my new kitchen towel!!  Many people have commented on it sheer loveliness as it sits prominently in my kitchen. It brings in the fresh fruit look with out having to pick some fruit from our tree!

What Others are SAYING about Gettin' Crafty Stampin'...

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
